41. A book with an unreliable narrator: Traktorien lyhyt historia ukrainaksi (Marina Lewycka)

Suosittelen!

28. A non-fiction: The Daily Show: An Oral History as Told by Jon Stewart, the Correspondents, Staff and Guests (Chris Smith)
Nimensä mukaisesti teos The Dailyn Show'sta Jon Stewart ohjaimissa. Mainio kirja, joka valoitti paljonkin taustoja. Minä olen hypännyt The Dailyn Shown kelkkaan vasta myöhäisessä vaiheessa, Jon Stewart ehti jo luovuttaa ohjat toisaalle, mutta minusta on kehkeytynyt pienoinen Stewart-fani kaikesta huolimatta.

Kirjan kannessa on eläin: Spencer Quinn Korvat pystyssä. Päähenkilökoira on kannessa.
Vähintään kaksi tekijää: Bernd Wasiolka & Niels Blaum Common plants in the Kalahari region. (Ja sama afrikaansiksi, mutta luin vain englanniksi). Tutustun väliaikaiseen kotimaahani Namibiaan.
Eteläiselle pallonpuoliskolle sijoittuva kirja: Burger Cillie The Mammal guide of southern Africa. Hyvä määritysopas.
Toisen kirjahyllystä: Ernest Hemingway The snows of Kilimanjaro. Namibialaisen riistapuiston kirjastosta.

14. A book with a strong female character: Minna Eväsoja: Melkein geisha. Kiinnostava teos japanilaisesta yhteiskunnasta ja tavoista suomalaisnaisen silmin. Kirjassa kuvailtiin hauskasti, kuinka japanilaisten silmissä länsimainen nainen on vahva ja itsenäinen, riippumatta tämän koosta tai persoonasta.
17. A book with illustrations: Mauri Kunnas: Aikamoinen ajantieto.
21. A book that is a continuation of a book you've already read: Eve Hietamies: Hammaskeiju. Rakastan näitä Hietamiehen yksinhuoltajaisä+poika-kirjoja. Helppolukuinen ja nauroin ääneen lukiessani.
28. A non-fiction: Juha Itkonen: Minun Amerikkani.
37. A book you choose randomly: Guy Delisle: Huonon isän opas.
43. A book with a chilling atmosphere (scary, unsettling, cold): Kang Han: Vegetaristi. Viime vuotinen Booker- palkinnon voittaja.

Kirjailija ja tapahtumat eteläiseltä pallonpuoliskolta: Andre Brink A dry white season. Etelä-Afrikasta 1970-luvulta apartheidhallinnon mielivallasta. Hyvin todentuntuinen romaani.
Sattumalta valittu: Marilyn French Her mother's daughter - aika sattumalta, pienen kirjaston n. 50 romaanista, tosin katsoen sopivuutta muihin kategorioihin.
