6. A book with one of the four seasons in the title Mark Helprin: Talvinen tarina

Tein samantien ketjun ensi vuoden Popsugarin haasteelle:
Lukuhaaste: Popsugar 2018

Oseaanialaisen kirjoittama: Marianne Curley Muinainen taika.

Tarina tarinassa: Margaret Atwood Sokea surmaaja.
Penguin Modern Classic: F. Scott Fitzgerald Tender is the night - painokseni tosin on Wordsworth Classics, mutta Penguinin listalta löysin. En pitänyt yhtä paljon kuin The Great Gatsbystä. Viehko tyyli on tallella, mutta hienoista itsetarkoituksellisuuden makua olen havaitsevinani. Tender is the night on pitkälti omaelämäkerrallinen, ja Fitzgerald elää synkkiä aikoja. Kirjasta on kaksi versiota; minä luin alkuperäisen 1934 version, postuumisti julkaistu kronologiseksi editoitu versio olisi ehkä luettavampi.
Suosikkikirjailijani suosittelema: Hjalmar Bergman Johan och Helen. Maria Lang mainitsee Bergmanin usein dekkareissaan haikean ihailevaan sävyyn. Opettavaisuudessaan ja filosofisuudessaan raskassoutuista huumoria. Olisiko aika ajanut tämän ohi. Paranee kyllä loppua kohden, kun jotain alkaa tapahtua.
Haaste selvä.
