31. A book inspired by a leading news story: Khaled Hosseini: Meren rukous
Kirjan lopussa kerrotaan että "alkusysäyksen tälle teokselle antoi kolmivuotias syyrialainen pakolaispoika Alan Kurdi, joka hukkui Välimereen yrittäessään päästä Eurooppaan turvaan syyskuussa 2015". Muistan itsekin kyseisen uutisoinnin pakolaiskriisin aikaan.
42. A book that was nominated for one of the ‘10 Most Coveted Literary Prizes in the World’: Sally Rooney: Normaaleja ihmisiä
Kirja on voittanut ainakin Costa Book Awardsin ja ollut longlistattuna (miten tämä nyt suomeksi kääntyykään) myös Man Booker Prize- ja Women's Prize for Fiction- palkinnoissa.

29. An underrated book, a hidden gem or a lesser known book -

44. A book related to witches Nathaniel Hawthorne: Seitsenpäätyinen talo
Kirja alkaa takautumalla, jossa kuvaillaan miten Pyncheonin suvun kantaisä 1600-luvun amerikkalaisessa pikkukaupungissa himoitsi toiselle miehelle kuuluvia maita.

29. An underrated book, a hidden gem or a lesser known book Philip Reeve: Railhead

26. A book from the 2019 Goodreads Choice Awards Michelle Paver: Wakenhyrst

4. A book set in a place or time that you wouldn't want to live -
Dmitri Gluhovski: Metro 2035
