34. A book you meant to read in 2019 - George R. R. Martin: Seitsemän kuningaskunnan ritari
Suomennos oli tarkoitus lukea heti tuoreeltaan viime vuonna, mutta ei ehtinyt.
Kirja sisältää kolme pienoisromaania. Olin lukenut Puskaritarin aiemmin Dreamsongs kokoelmasta, mutta siitäkin on kulunut jo 7 vuotta. Kahta muuta pienoisromaania en ollut aiemmin lukenut. Mukavia tarinoita Tulen ja Jään laulun saagan historiasta. Suvuista eniten esillä on Targaryenin suku, mutta muitakin sukuja vilisee tarinassa, joten mielestäni tarinoista saa enemmän irti, jos Tulen ja jään laulun maailma on jo entuudestaan tuttu. 3½

En tiedä milloin banned book week on, mutta minulla se oli nyt. Olen aika kyllästynyt siihen, miten usein haasteissa on kielletty kirja. On niin vaikeaa löytää kiinnostavaa luettavaa, eikä tämäkään sarjis periaatteessa täytä ehtoja. Löysin tiedon, että jokin koulu (oletan että Jenkeissä) halusi kieltää sen väkivaltaisuuden vuoksi, mutta Comic Book Legal Defense Fund puolusti sitä onnistuneesti ja kirja jäi koulun kirjastoon.
