18. A book you've read before that never fails to make you smile: Adulthood Is a Myth (Sarah Andersen)

18. A book you've read before that never fails to make you smile - P.G. Wodehouse: My Man Jeeves
Ihan klassikkokamaa. Luin samaan aikaan Agatha Christietä ja kirjat alkoivat hassusti sekoittua päässäni - molemmissa liikutaan menneen maailman englantilaisen yläluokan parissa (tosin Wooster oli muuttanut Englannista Amerikkaan). Kesti aina hetken jäsentää mielessään ketkä hahmot ja mitkä tapahtumat kuuluvat tähän kirjaan, jota nyt luen. Olisi kieltämättä selkeämpää lukea vain yhtä kirjaa kerrallaan.

35. A book set in a hotel - Agatha Christie: Bertramin hotellissa
Christien myöhäisempää tuotantoa, jonka valitsin ihan haastetta varten.

7. A book that is a story within a story J.R. Ward: The Chosen (Black Dagger Brotherhood#15)
Veljeskunnan kirjoissa päähahmojen historiaa selvitetään yleensä uni- taikka muistelmajaksoilla, niinkuin tässäkin kirjassa jossa avataan Band of Bastardsin, Xcorin, lähtokohtia, sukujuuria ja kasvatusta.

40. A book you bought on a trip - Roald Dahl: Jaakko ja jättipersikka
A book you loved as a child on vielä täyttämättä.

Ensimmäinen kirja sarjaa, jota en ennen ole lukenut: Spencer Quinn Korvat pystyssä. Nuuskijatutkimuksia 1.
Monta tekijää: Brian Herbert & Kevin Anderson Dune, House Corrino. Kyseenalaista, onko kaksi monta, mutta menköön.
Kirjassa on alaotsikko: Bernd Wasiolka & Niels Blaum Common plants in the Kalahari region, A farmer's field guide.
Erämaahan sijoittuva kirja: Burger Cillie The Mammal guide of southern Africa. Useimmat eläimet löytyvät kaukaa asutuilta alueilta.
Kahdelle ajanjaksolle sijoittuva: Ernest Hemingway The snows of Kilimanjaro. Kaikissa novelleissa on takaumia.
Eksentrinen henkilö: Maria Jungstedt Den mörka ängeln. Neljän lapsen vaativa äiti ja lammasmaalari on aika erikoinen, vaikka tuo kyllä mieleen ainakin yhden tuntemanikin henkilön

Käytettyjen kirjojen myynnistä: Jyrkinen, Anttonen & Karhu (toim.) Mathapa ja muita ruokaohjeita Mosambikista. Lapin maakuntakirjaston poistoleima.
Maasta, jossa en ole käynyt: Andre Brink A dry white season. Etelä-Afrikasta.
Perheenjäsen otsikossa: Marilyn French Her mother's daughter. Äiti ja tytär.
Kuvakirja: Wannenburgh, Johnson & Bannister The bushmen. Puolet kirjasta valokuvia.

6. A book with one of the four seasons in the title - Antonio Hill: Kuolleiden lelujen kesä
Olen tainnut tottua liian hyviin kirjoihin  . Tuskin luen muita Hillin kirjoja, tämänkin luin pelkästään haasteen takia.

Adv. 4. A book that takes place over a character's life span – Jhumpa Lahiri: The Lowland
En ajatellut tämän sopivan enää haasteeseen, mutta huomasin sitten, että päähenkilö kasvaa pikkupojasta vanhaksi ukoksi. Minusta tällaiset haastekohdat on ihan parhaita: et tiedä mikä kirja siihen sopii, ennen kuin olet lukenut kirjan. The Lowland oli muuten erinomaisen hienosti kerrottu tarina erään perheen elämästä Intiassa ja Amerikassa.

Päähenkilö on japanilainen poliisietsivä Nagatsuma, jonka tutkimukset ja elämä saavat uuden käänteen hänen tavatessaan näkövammaisen Aoin, jolla tuntuu olevan yliluonnollisia kykyjä mm. ennustaa tulevaa. Spiritual Police edustaa mangassa yaoi genreä, eli homoromantiikkaa/erotiikkaa.
