Goodreadsin lista vaikuttaa äkkikatsomalta melko iisiltä. Oikeastaan vain yksi kohta tuntui heti vaikealta: [b]33. A book connected (title, cover, content) to a word "born" in the same year as you[/b] Riippuu tietty syntymävuodestakin, mutta luulen että voi olla hankalaa löytää sopiva kirja. Jotkut kohdat taas oli vähän turhankin helppoja, esim. [b]35. A book featuring a murder[/b]. Viime vuonna jossain haasteessa (ehkä Helmetin?) oli kohta: kirja, jossa kukaan ei kuole. Siinä oli paljon enemmän haastetta, ainakin minun lukumaulla.

Minusta tämä ensi vuoden lista on aika inspiroiva. Olen jo löytänyt monta hyvää ehdokasta, joihin haluttaisi jo päästä käsiksi. Löysin kohtaan 33 useammankin hyvän sanan/ilmaisun joista ei varmastikaan tuota vaikeuksia löytää kiinnostavaa teosta. Ainoa kohta, joka tähän mennessä on vähän tuottanut hankaluuksia on [b]23. A medical or legal thriller[/b]. Vaihtoehdot tuntuvat olevan Robin Cookin tai John Grishamin tyylisiä ja lueskeltuani tarkemmin heidän romaaniensa kuvauksia voin sanoa ettei pahemmin nappaa. Mielummin nypin vaikka nenäkarvani yksi kerrallaan. Eräs varteenotettava vaihtoehto tuli kyllä vastaan, mutten osaa sanoa käykö se [i]medical[/i] thrilleristä. Ei kukaan täällä ole sattunut lukemaan Lehanen [i]Suljettua saarta[/i]?

Kirja on vasta lukulistalla, mutta olen nähnyt siitä tehdyn elokuvan (oli hyvä!). [b]Thriller[/b]: ehdottomasti, [b]legal[/b]: ei, [b]medical[/b]: mun mielestä kyllä. Ei leikkaussali-medical, mutta on mielisairaalakin "medical". Lisäksi voisin suositella tähän kohtaan Belinda Bauerin Ruumis nro 19. Loistava [color=red]viiden tähden[/color] dekkari (vink: 20. No niin vuosi on vaihtunut ja haasteen lähtölaukaus ammuttu. Olen joululomalla yrittänyt vähän suunnitella mitä kirjoja luen näihin haasteisiin, viime vuonna suunnittelu jäi vähemmälle. Kertoo vaikeuksista selviämisestä: Frances Hodgson Burnett A Little princess. Päähenkilön onni katoaa ja nousee taas. Samaa mallia ja ainesta kuin Salaisessa puutarhassa, mutta missä siinä on satahuoneinen talo, nummi ja mysteeri, on tässä vain ylen täydellinen tyttö. Luin vähän Burnettistä, kirjansa näkyvät olevan hieman omaelämäkerrallisia, ja teoksia olisi n. 50 lisää tarjolla

Tuomas Rimpiläinen on Aamulehden rikostoimittaja, joka on koonnut muutamia mielenkiintoisia rikostarinoita 20- ja 30-luvun Suomesta. An author's debut book[/b] - Ruth Ware: Synkän metsän siimeksessä   Muistan nähneeni Warelta aiemmin kirjan The woman in cabin 10 ja siksi yritin sovittaa tätä kirjaa kaikkiin muihin kohtiin paitsi tähän. Tarkemmin katsottuna olikin Synkän metsän siimeksessä (In a Dark, Dark Wood ) se ensimmäinen. Nainen hytissä 10 ilmestyy suomeksi tänä vuonna.
