Enkkupuolella ja GR:ssa se on luokiteltu kuitenkin kauhuksi, joten tällä mennään. Tarina sijoittuu amerikkalaisten miehittämään Saddamin jälkeisen ajan Bagdadiin. Itsemurhapommittajat iskevät harva se päivä ja ihmisiä katoaa tuon tuostakin. Yhden räjähdyksen jälkeen romukauppias Hadi kokoaa löytämistään kappaleista kokonaisen ruumiin aikeinaan haudata se kunniallisesti. Ruumis herääkin henkiin ja alkaa kylvää kauhua kaupungissa.   28/50

A book featuring a party - [url=https://www.risingshadow.fi/library/book/8659-evelynin-seitseman-kuolemaa]Stuart Turton: Evelynin seitsemän kuolemaa[/url]   Tarina sijoittuu syrjäiseen maalaiskartanoon, jossa on järjestetty tanssiaiset.   Pohjustus tarinassa on pitkä, mutta niin on vähän pakko ollakin tämä tyyppisessä tarinassa, jonka juonirakenne perustuu mysteeriin ja eri näkökulmia on paljon. Pääasiassa vasta viimeisten 150 sivun aikana vyyhti puretaan ja seuraa pikkuhiljaa paljastukset.   Periaatteessa ihan hyvä, mutta olisin nauttinut kirjasta enemmän, jos itsellä olisi ollut enemmän spekuloinnin mahdollisuuksia ja ratkaisun avaimia käsissä tarinan edetessä. Nyt lähes kaikki ratkaisut tuli annettuna, koska lukiessa ei tullut mieleenikään skenaario, mikä lopulta oli totuus.  3   28/50

An Anisfield-Wolf Book Award winner [color=#006633]Zadie Smith: Kauneudesta[/color][/b] - Tältä listalta oli harvinaisen vaikeaa löytää itseään edes vähän kiinnostava kirja (puhumattakaan saatavuudesta), toivottavasti ei löydy ensi vuoden haastelistoilta. Smith sai palkinnon vuodelta 2006. Onneksi Smithin teksti oli sentään hyvää, vaikka muutoin kirjan juoni oli melko semikiinnostava, itseäni kun Rembrandtin taide ei erityisemmin sytytä ja hiphop ja rap saavat minut vain kääntämään radiokanavaa ja nämä olivat keskeisiä elementtejä usean henkilön elämässä. Mutta kuten sanottua, Smith kirjoittaa hyvin ja tämäkin yli 600 sivuinen teos tuli luettua, joskin hitaamman puoleisesti.   31/50 [spoiler]REGULAR [b]1. Tam on muunsukupuolinen ihmissusi ja Novan lapsuudenystävä, joka palaa kaupunkiin pitkästä aikaa. Nuoret päätyvät taikuudentäyteiseen seikkailuun ja rakastuvat siinä sivussa.
