Se saa Vehkoon vaikuttamaan varsin reippaalta, vaikka noita sanoja seuraa kuvaus tapauksesta joka hallitsi hallitsi hänen elämäänsä vuosia sekä nakersi hänen terveyttään, turvallisuudentunnettaan ja uskoaan oikeuslaitokseen.   24/50

A book about someone leading a double life - [url=https://www.risingshadow.fi/library/book/6647-karou-savun-tytar]Laini Taylor: Karou, savun tytär[/url]   Kirjan päähenkilö Karou on normaali elämässä taideopiskelija Prahassa. Toisessa elämässä hänellä on hirviöistä koostuva perhe ja hän keräilee hampaita eri maailmankolkista kasvatti-isälleen.   Kirjan alkupuolisko lupasi hyvää, mutta loppupuolisko painottui romanssille ja sain todeta, että kokonaisuus ei ollut minua varten. Tarina oli sujuvaa luettavaa. Jatkuvajuonisena kertomuksena tarina jäi kesken, mutta tyydyin välipäätökseen. 2½   25/50

[b]18. [/b][b]A romance novel by a BIPOC author[/b] Morgan Rogers: [i]Honey girl [/i]   Rogers on afroamerikkalainen ja kaipa tämän kirjan voi romantiikaksi luokitella. Ainakin GR:ssa kirjalla on eniten romantiikka-tägejä, mutta minusta (joka en siis genreä lue) sitä laatua oli tässä aika vähän. Päähenkilö on Grace, vastavalmistunut astronomian tohtori, joka tyttöjen reissulla Las Vegasiin huomaa menneensä kännissä naimisiin tuntemattoman naisen kanssa. Löydettyään katoamistempun tehneen vaimonsa hän alkaa pikku hiljaa tutustua tähän ja matkustaa New Yorkiin tapaamaan häntä. Enimmäkseen tässä kuitenkin käsitellään Gracen eksistentiaalista kriisiä. Häneen kohdistuu paljon odotuksia eikä hän enää tiedä mitä elämältään oikeasti haluaa.   25/50
