A book that makes you nostalgic - [url=https://www.risingshadow.fi/library/book/1597-carrie]Stephen King: Carrie[/url]   Kingin alkupuolen teokset ovat nostalgisia itselleni, koska nuoruudessa King oli se kirjailija, jonka teokset piti kaikki lukea ja 90 luvulta lähtien jäi tavaksi lukea suomennokset aina melko pian ilmestymisen jälkeen. Toinen kirjailija jota tuolloin paljon suomennettiin ja tuli luettua oli Dean R. Koontz. Nuorempana lukemiseni oli paljon suppeampaa ja vähäisempää kuin se on nykyään.   [i]Carrie[/i] ei ole ensimmäinen lukemani Kingin kirja, mutta viiden ensimmäisen joukossa se lienee kuitenkin ja luettu joskus 80-90-luvun taitteessa. [i]Yön äänet[/i] kokoelmaa lukuun ottamatta en ole lukenut mitään Kingin kirjaa kuin kerran, joten ei ole pahitteeksi ottaa uusintalukua joistain varhaisista kirjoista. Aloitan siis debyyttikirjasta [i]Carrie[/i], vaikka se ei Kingin tuotannosta suosikkini olekaan.   [i]Carrie[/i] on ihan hyvä esikoiskirja. Muistin koko juonen hyvin, joten mitään yllättävyyttä en voinut kokea toisella lukukerralla. King on käyttänyt ensimmäisessä tarinassaan ainakin yhtä aihekehystä, joka näkyy enemmän tai vähemmän läpi hänen kirjailijauransa. Kun kirjaan tuli jatkoa myöhemmin, ei jatko [i]Jos olisit tässä[/i] pystynyt läheskään samanlaiseen tunnekuohuun. Siksipä en uskaltanut pitää erityistä kiirettä sarjan päätösosan kanssa, kun se ilmestyi suomeksi viime vuonna. Nyt sen viimeinkin hyllystäni poimin eteeni.
